The Davis Solar Radiation Sensor (SKU 6450) measures incoming solar radiation with high precision and is required for calculating evapotranspiration when used together with an anemometer and a temperature/humidity sensor. Its engineering ensures stable, reliable measurements for agricultural, meteorological, and scientific applications.

The optical diffuser and sensor housing provide excellent cosine response for accurate readings at varying sun angles. A silicon photodiode delivers a spectral response that closely matches natural sunlight. The two-piece housing minimizes heating from solar load, allows natural convection cooling, and prevents dust or water from becoming trapped. The sensor includes a built-in level and a 2′ (0.6 m) cable for quick installation.

This sensor is compatible with both the original Vantage Pro and the Vantage Pro2 weather stations. It is already included with Vantage Pro Plus and Vantage Pro2 Plus models.
