Boom Interconnect Box Apex

The Smith-Root Boom Interconnect Box provides watertight, firm, and secure electrical connections from the electrofisher power output to the vessel's anode and cathode system (including boat booms, boat hull, and isolated cathodes). This device acts as a critical central distribution node to safeguard operational safety during aquatic biological sampling and research.

The output cables, originally supplied with your electrofisher, are easily inserted through watertight strain-relief strain relief connectors to couple directly to the insulated anode or cathode terminal posts. Likewise, lines originating from the booms are inserted via additional strain relief connectors to bind to the corresponding terminal. All internal connections are made using ring lugs on the posts, allowing the booms to be quickly reconfigured as anodes or cathodes simply by changing the terminal to which they are connected.

The system includes a 91.4 cm (3.0 ft) cable equipped with 0.64 cm (0.25 in) ring lugs on each end, designed to integrate the boat's aluminum hull as the cathode if field protocols require it. This interconnect box is an indispensable accessory to safely connect 2.5 GPP, 5.0 GPP, Type VI-A, 1.5kVA, VVP-15B, and Apex boat electrofishers to boat booms.
