Turn Your Mobile Device into a Professional Bat Detector

Detect, listen to, and identify bats in real time with the Echo Meter Touch 2 PRO: professional precision in the palm of your hand.

Echo Meter Touch 2 PRO transforms your smartphone or tablet into an advanced acoustic bat detection tool. Designed specifically for researchers and environmental consultants, this device offers high-fidelity recordings with reduced noise and more captured bat calls. Compatible with Android (USB-C or Micro-USB) and featuring a free app, it's ideal for field monitoring without an internet connection. Includes real-time listening modes, interactive spectrogram, geolocation, and automatic species suggestions powered by Bat Auto-ID technology.

    Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR)

SNR measures the loudness of bats relative to background and electronic noise in a given audio recording. A high-SNR bat detector is preferable as it allows for capturing quiet or distant echolocation calls. This chart compares the SNR of the EMT 2 PRO and EMT 2 at different frequencies. Since the EMT 2 PRO has a higher SNR, it is more likely to trigger and record high-frequency bats (above 60 kHz).

SNR Comparison EMT 2 PRO vs EMT 2

    Sensitivity and Noise

This chart shows the microphone sensitivity and electronic noise produced by the EMT 2 PRO and EMT 2 across the recording bandwidth. The difference between the two values determines the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).

Sensitivity & Noise Comparison EMT 2 PRO vs EMT 2

    Directionality

Directionality indicates how many decibels (dB) are lost as a bat moves farther away from the most sensitive part of a microphone. EMT 2 PRO and EMT 2 detect bats broadly in front of you while minimizing any echoes bouncing off your body.

    Key Features:

    • High-Fidelity Recordings: Low-noise microphone captures even weak or distant echolocation, reducing false positives.
    • Real-Time Listening: Patented RTE technology preserves the tone and rhythm of ultrasonic calls.
    • Species Suggestions: Automatic identification of the two most likely species, based on advanced acoustic analysis (region dependent).
    • Free App: Available for iOS and Android. Includes live spectrogram, maps, recording, and customizable features.
    • Mapping and Sharing: View recorded paths and instantly share files.
    • Full Customization: Adjust gain, minimum frequency, trigger sensitivity, and more.
