The Extech MO210 pocket moisture meter is an essential diagnostic tool for investigators, field inspectors, and professionals tasked with environmental monitoring and structural resource management. This compact device allows for the immediate evaluation of whether wood, stabilized soil, or various porous components have suffered water intrusion or unwanted moisture accumulation—factors that can compromise structural integrity or promote microorganism growth. Its operation is extremely simple and intuitive: just insert the sharp pin electrodes into the material's surface to obtain a direct reading of its physical-chemical condition.

Thanks to its integrated selection switch, the instrument adapts its measurement principle based on the substrate being analyzed. In the building materials mode (such as sheetrock, wallboards, concrete, mortar, and plaster), the device accurately detects moisture levels within a range of 0.2% to 2.4%. By sliding the selector to the wood function, the portable meter calibrates its parameters to determine moisture concentrations from 6% to 44%. This versatility makes it indispensable field equipment for conservation projects, natural material optimization, and biological control in green buildings or botanical warehouses.
