The Z-Bolt® Bird-SPOT is engineered to withstand demanding field conditions. It has been tested and certified to provide eye safety for both people and wildlife. Its waterproof construction makes it ideal for use in rainforests and other environments exposed to rain, mist, and high humidity. The laser diode and battery compartment are protected by dual O-ring seals, while the electronic circuit board is fully encapsulated in epoxy resin to protect it from vibration, accidental impacts, and other harsh field conditions. It is resistant to water, dust, shock, and vibration, ensuring dependable long-term performance. The Bird-SPOT is manufactured from high-quality anodized aluminum and features an infrared (IR) filter and precision glass lens to maximize laser performance. It includes a Z-Bolt neck lanyard and is optionally available with a durable nylon belt holster for convenient carrying, storage, and protection during field activities.

Z-Bolt® Certified Power

The Bird-SPOT incorporates Z-Bolt® Certified Power technology, designed to deliver the brightest possible laser dot during daylight and a highly visible beam at night. Every Z-Bolt® Certified green laser pointer is individually adjusted and calibrated at the factory, then tested using a professional laser power meter. Each unit is guaranteed to produce an output between 4.0 and 5.0 mW, providing two to three times the brightness of standard Class IIIa laser pointers. Every Bird-SPOT includes its own unique Laser Output Power Certificate.

Special APC Circuit and IR Filter for Human and Wildlife Eye Safety

The Bird-SPOT incorporates an APC (Automatic Power Control) electronic circuit together with an infrared (IR) filter, specifically designed to enhance eye safety for both users and wildlife. This intelligent system uses a feedback photodiode that continuously monitors the laser's optical output and automatically adjusts the diode's operation to maintain stable power. This technology helps extend laser diode life, prevents overheating, and improves long-term stability, efficiency, and reliability during extended field use.
