You can use this sampler in shallow or deep waters. The bottle is called "horizontal" because it descends parallel to the bottom, and you must pull it sideways just before closing it with the messenger. This ensures you get a representative water sample for that specific depth. It is ideal for sampling at the thermocline, other particular stratification levels, or just above the bottom sediments. You can order this popular and versatile bottle in either transparent acrylic or opaque PVC. The PVC is more durable and less costly, while the acrylic allows you to view the bottle's contents immediately.

This sampler is designed for general sampling and is not suitable for trace metal analysis due to the potential for contamination (e.g., mercury and phosphorus) from the materials in its structure. For precision chemical analysis, we recommend our Beta Bottle water samplers.
