The Free Flow Water Sampler 5 l is a premier instrument for researchers who require pristine, uncontaminated water samples from specific depths. Its innovative design eliminates the common limitations of traditional PWS or Niskin bottles by providing a completely unobstructed flow path. Unlike standard samplers that use cones or ball valves, this free-flushing construction ensures that nothing interferes with the water exchange inside the tube during descent, allowing for a more accurate representation of the water column.

Constructed from high-quality PVC and POM plastic to prevent metal contamination, the sampler consists of a durable tube with two lids connected by latex rubber tubing. It is highly versatile and can be used as a single instrument on a hydrographic wire, in a series for multiple depth sampling, or integrated into Multi Water Sampler, Rosette, or Carousel arrays. When deployed individually, it utilizes a mechanical messenger system for precise closure at the target depth, ensuring that the captured sample remains isolated from other layers of the water column.
