Requires Activation and Data from GlobalStar Satellite System
NorthStar has developed a line of wildlife tracking collars that provide field GPS data in real-time via the GlobalStar satellite system. In fact, NorthStar was the first in the industry to provide a real-time satellite collar. Expanding on that success, it now also offers Iridium and GSM collars, allowing two-way operation and real-time data transmission. Additionally, GPS logging collars integrated with VHF transmitters are available to assist in recovery. Includes GPS receiver and GlobalStar transmitter.
The tracking system includes a "no movement" alarm and a geo-fence, along with a mapping application that allows you to plot points on Google Earth.
NorthStar also supports conservation projects, so you can apply for funding directly!

The specified accuracy is 2.5 meters CEP and 5 meters SEP. CEP is Circular Error Probability. It is the radius of a horizontal circle, centered on the true position of the antenna, containing 50% of the fixed points. SEP is Spherical Error Probability. It is the radius of a sphere, centered on the true position of the antenna, containing 50% of the fixed points.
NOTE: After acquiring 5 consecutive positions, the GPS engine is turned off (1 per second) with a horizontal accuracy of 5 meters or less.
