    Smith-Root 24V lead-acid batteries are the energy standard for fisheries management and conservation professionals. Specifically designed to integrate with backpack electrofishing systems, these units offer an ideal balance between weight and autonomy. Sealed technology ensures safe operation in wet environments, maintaining a constant energy flow for accurate results in every sampling session.

    Field Performance

    These 24V lead batteries are engineered to provide consistent performance in scientific applications. The 12 Ah variant provides extended field time compared to the standard 7 Ah unit, allowing for more productive workdays in remote areas.

    The 7 Ah battery comes standard with the LR-20B, LR-24, and Apex series backpack electrofishers, ensuring the perfect ergonomic balance for the operator.

    Maintenance and Charging

    Recharge Time: A 7 Ah battery requires 3 to 6 hours, while the 12 Ah battery needs 8 to 10 hours. It is normal for the full charge indicator to take up to 2.5 hours to activate due to the deep-charge cycle.

    Storage: It is recommended to charge them fully before storage and perform a maintenance recharge every 3 to 4 months. Avoid extreme temperatures to prolong chemical integrity.

    Service Life: With proper use, these batteries last 3 to 5 years. They support up to 1100 cycles at 30% depth of discharge (D.O.D) or 230 cycles at 100% discharge.

    Important Note: The UBC-24 charger is required (not included). The 12 Ah model requires a specific adapter cable.
