The 4th generation Song Meter SM4 represents a significant advancement in wildlife acoustic monitoring. This dual-channel device is capable of capturing large volumes of data from birds, amphibians, and aquatic life with superior audio quality, thanks to its high-performance built-in microphones. Smaller and lighter than the SM3, the SM4 combines innovative scheduling tools with ultra-low power consumption, enabling the longest deployment times of any acoustic recorder available. Its rugged polycarbonate construction ensures durability in extreme conditions, from humid jungles to arid deserts, backed by an industry-leading 3-year warranty.

The SM4 includes two next-generation built-in weatherproof microphones. Cabled acoustic microphones, acoustic hydrophones, and a GPS option are also available. The power adapter cable connects the SM4 to alternative power sources. NiMH batteries and high-capacity SD cards are sold separately.
