It is a versatile system for individual positioning in coordinate systems within sample plots. The Postex system is often used in combination with Haglöf Sweden DP II or Digitech Professional computer calipers and the Postex software application. Data can be exported as a CSV file, which can easily be used for visualization and analysis in, for example, ArcGIS Online. With Postex Laser, you can collect more field data in less time while using reliable technology. The Postex instrument solution has been developed in collaboration with leading scientists.
The Postex Laser instrument system allows you to select the height measurement method according to the terrain and situation. It works with a high-precision laser with filter function, as well as reliable and proven ultrasound technology.
The Postex Laser instrument is durable and features a user-friendly interface. Results can be transferred via Bluetooth or IR to your computer caliper or handheld device. For optimal efficiency, use the Postex Laser instrument in a complete system solution including the DP II computer caliper and the software application.
Establish X and Y coordinates on individual trees, measure long and short distances quickly and accurately, select between different height measurement methods, and use in a complete Postex system with computer caliper and customized software for efficiency and uninterrupted workflow.

Perform a sample plot inventory to obtain X,Y coordinate positions of individual trees.

Postex includes high-precision laser technology, ideal for fast results and measuring distances up to 700 meters. The image shows the instrument mounted on a monopod (accessory).
For shorter ranges and particularly for circular plot inventories and also for working in dense forests, use the proven and reliable Vertex ultrasound method. The ultrasound method is fundamental for positioning individual trees with Postex Laser.

Postex offers different options for measuring heights. Choose according to the environment and needs when on site.
The Postex Laser instrument features angles in degrees, grads, and percentages. The camera-type monopod with foot support is an accessory that can be used with Postex, VL5, and L5 when a more stable target is required.

This is the most common Postex system model, often used together with a Haglöf computer caliper such as the DP II or Digitech Professional.
The Postex Laser instrument includes ultrasound and laser technology for easy and accurate height measurement of individual trees. The instrument features a user-friendly design and rugged exterior combined with elegant and advanced internal functionality. With ultrasound, you will not be limited by line-of-sight measurements.
It is a customized and complete solution recommended for users who prefer ultrasound technology to be available in the DP II computer Caliper with a custom-programmed Postex add-on. In System 2, tree heights are measured with the L5 laser instrument. The DP Postex is installed in the DP II Caliper and is used to measure distances, forming the basis for positioning individual trees and other objects in permanent sample plots. The DP II Caliper and Postex software handle all calculations and processing of all input information.
Note: The DP II computer Caliper and the Postex software license are mandatory.
It is suitable when positioning work does not involve height or diameter measurements, for example in plantations, research, and monitoring work.
Ultrasound technology is useful for positioning, for example, seedlings. In System 3, the DP Postex add-on is installed in the DP II computer terminal. The DP II terminal is programmed with the Postex software license. The DP II terminal is used as a standalone computer in this case, and a measuring scale for diameter measurement is not included in System 3.
The DP II terminal and the Postex software license are mandatory for System 3.
